This is my public service announcement to y'all, because I love you and want you to be happy, healthy and not waste your time and money ;)
Here's a question I get a lot...
It's cheaper to just buy from a third-party site, or even get my oils at the grocery store and I get the best bang for my buck! Right??
Yes, it may be less expensive, but you end up walking a pretty scary line - in my opinion at least. And cheaper definitely isn't always better, especially when it comes to your health.
Young Living bases its sole existence on excellence in essential oils, in making sure that the farms they use were never treated with chemicals, pesticides or herbicides and from the time the seed was planted in the ground to the seal on the bottle and its arrival in your home - it is completely 100% therapeutic grade essential oil without any toxins. There are even times when YL will willingly allow a product to go out of stock for a year simply because a crop isn't ready yet. They lose out on millions of dollars in missed sales, but still keep their promise to their families. Read more on Young Living's Seed to Seal Promise here.
When you purchase a Young Living essential oil from a third-party, you greatly run the risk of purchasing a bottle of essential oil that has been diluted, contaminated, or even end up spending more for less (for example: a diluted bottle of rose oil). Some vendors who sell on these third-party sites can reseal the bottles and sell them to you without you ever knowing - scary right?!
That is why anyone who has a business with Young Living as an independent distributor does not carry inventory - to also limit this risk. Young Living sends your essential oils straight from their farms to your doorstep.
I'm the kind of person who is very careful of the products I use and how much I'm paying for things. I definitely don't like to spend excess money where it's not needed - who's with me?? And I definitely want to know exactly what I'm putting on my body and using daily is safe, free of chemicals and worth my investment.
One of the biggest things for me is this question right here - Why would I invest in my health and use essential oils to avoid chemicals and toxins, only to use a product with chemicals and toxins in it? Can I get an amen?!
Use extreme caution when you purchase an essential oil from the grocery store, a third party site, and even the therapeutic grade essential oil companies out there. Do your research!
Essential oils are not synthetic (man-made) and therefore cannot be duplicated exactly the same way every time in order to qualify for FDA regulations. Therefore, it is extremely important you know where you are purchasing your essential oils from and that you're investing in something that is truly benefiting your health and not scamming you into thinking so!
One of my biggest pet peeves are those companies who label something as organic, but when you look at the ingredients on the back it has every chemical known to man in it. This is exactly why I only trust Young Living with myself and my family. I know where the essential oils and other products are coming from, and that they are actually benefiting me.
When you purchase through a third-party, you also end up missing out on one of my favorite parts of essential oils and Young Living - the COMMUNITY! With people around you encouraging you, offering free tips and gifts just for you, and how to use oils in every day life (how you're supposed to!), you won't end up using them every now and then and not truly getting the benefits. Essential oils become a part of your daily life and become WAY less overwhelming when you have new (and old!) friends to link arms with you and help you along the way.
Last little side note and then I'll leave you to go about your day :) When you purchase your oils and other household/beauty/pet/kids products through Young Living on Essential Rewards, you also get crazy awesome amounts of money back to spend on more oily goodness - way more than the coupons you get at the grocery store or free shipping on Amazon (don't get me wrong I use Prime like it's nobody's business, but not for my oils). YL likes to spoil its families - just another reason why I love them.
